If you have ever overslept and been late to work because your snoring kept you up all night Snoring U may be the answer that you have been looking for. The new app runs on the iPhone, iPad and iTouch, and it helps chronic snorers get gentle reminders when their sleeping patterns get out of whack. You may already be working with a sleep specialist, and if so Snoring U will collect data while you sleep and then email it to a designated recipient. The app doesn’t come in with a built in alarm clock and it certainly doesn’t support conference calling, but there are other apps that do.

For people that snore loudly enough to disturb their significant others, Snoring U can help them to naturally adjust during the course of the night. If you are not sure of exactly how loud your snoring gets you can record yourself and then play it back so that you can hear what your snoring must sound like to others. Getting sufficient sleep is a necessity, so if you think that your problem is severe you might want to get this app after you have made an appointment with a sleep study specialist.

Owners of the latest Apple products always seem to get access to the coolest apps first. If you are lucky enough to have an iPhone you can keep Snoring U running even while your smart phone is in sleep mode. For the iTouch and iPad, the device will need to be completely turned on, but remember that you will be able to sleep easier. Developers are working on similar apps that will help Apple users to get more rest during the night, but they are likely waiting on consumer feedback on Snoring U before they release their programs to the public.

Apple lovers are willing to invest their entire paychecks if it means that they will be able to get the latest products. With that said, the iPod Touch 8gb can now magically transform itself into a pseudo iPhone by way of a ‘peel.’ That isn’t exactly how the technology works, but in a nutshell, the Apple Peel 520 is more like hardware than software. When an iPad owner places the peel onto their device, they have the option of sending text messages as well as making and receiving phone calls. The really good news is that iPod owners can use their VOIP service plan to make and receive these phone calls. Previous versions of peels made it so that users would have to purchase a separate service plan that started at around $40 a month.

For iPod owners that aren’t willing to shell out a lot of money for the iPhone 4, this peel will serve as a way to get with the times without going broke. The product’s developer, Yosion, is already hard at work on updated versions that will be compatible with every version of the iPod. Some iPod owners still carry around devices that were made in the early part of the new millennium, so there is a good chance that they will be able to take advantage of this technology somewhere down the line. So far, Yosion has not released information on sales, which makes it difficult to gauge just how popular these peels are. The company may be able to find an audience with teen users without the funds to invest in expensive electronics. As Yosion begins to invest into advertising, more people will become aware of peels. A few different Apple products are able to work with peels, but the iPod seems to be the easiest one to use.

In terms of market share, there are just very few companies that can ever really come close to giving a serious level of consideration to Apple since they have such a strong hold over the smart phone market at this time. In order to move the giant, companies are having to find ways to make the changes to the market instead of hoping they can compete with a similar product that lacks brand name power. There are bound to be ways for the market to expand, but LG has proven themselves to be a company adept at expanding the market in a dimension they really can appreciate and give rise to for a large number of consumers now standing on the other side of the fence in terms of mobile phone ownership. It is definitely a case of changing the playing field when it comes to the LG Pop because the phone itself has fewer features which many reviewers wondered about, but the technique has proven successful because many consumers in LG’s research polls had shown an aversion to paying more for features they did not want and simply wanted to have a lower cost phone with the right features they did want. Having found with their LG Cookie that consumers were more than willing to try out a cheaper phone with fewer bells and whistles, the Pop is an upping of that ante and still provides a low cost phone that is both small and also green due to the optional solar panel that can be added to the unit itself.

The strongest point the Pop offers which just may change the land scape for the smart phone industry is the fact that it is not just a phone with fewer features, it is a phone that places importance on the features that user feedback has shown would be needed even in a low cost model. Heavy design work has proven to add much value to this general concept.

The battle has been inherent in the smart phone market since Apple first let loose with the very first iPhone, shocking the world with not only the power and range of features it offered, but the extreme ease of use that helped to make the iPhone a real part of every day life. This means that they were able to take almost total control over the market right away because of the intense amount of design work and serious planning they put into both the product and its launch. It has definitely been a long battle for the smart phone competitors, with most attempts to take some iPhone market share ending up in bitter failure. The brand new Samsung Wave could change this if reviewers are on the market with their insight. This is looking to be one of the best competitors to rise up against the Apple kingdom so far and it comes as no surprise to scholars who have been keeping an eye on the Korean based Samsung for many years. The company’s firm resolve to total quality in consumer electronics has kept them in good stead and their ability to really take note of their competition shows in the Wave which emulates many of the iPhones strong points. The Wave may not yet have the brand name power of the iPhone but it certainly does have many features that savvy consumers are going to want in a device that has become enmeshed in their lives to the level that smart phones have. This leads many to predict that it won’t be long before the Wave is taking a real battle to the market and winning over more consumers who might not yet have heard of it.

This signals that Apple is going to need to strike back with their next incarnation of the iPhone because while the current version is doing well, the future is all about raising standards and blowing consumers away with total innovation.
